Search Me
I woke up sweating that my search history was going to brand me a murderer.
No person should be judged by their search history! This is especially true for mystery writers. But I needn't have worried -- the search terms from my last month-and-change proved fairly benign.
Previous months would have revealed searches about how to buy a gun, how to hide a body, and how long medical evidence lasts post-mortem. Enough for a conviction! This month was just top-heavy with fact checking my in-progress novel set in 1955 Hollywood -- what slang was common; if the Red Car still running; when were the horse tracks in season? Simple things. And there was a search or two related to my flu-induced Columbo appreciation of a couple weeks ago.
What Wilt Chamberlain's shoe size has to do with a ridiculously large Nazi tank that never made it off the drawing board must remain ... a mystery.
